Valentyn Sylvestrov may be deemed to be the best-known contemporary Ukrainian composer, someone whose beautiful, somewhat wistful, and slow music is an ideal fit for modern times. Silvestrov’s world of music seeks out something humanly emotional and eternal. The concert is dedicated to the composer eighty-fifth birthday.
