Since 2006 the Estonian National Male Choir has enjoyed a close-knit cooperation with the English composer Gavin Bryars. The composer has dedicated several pieces for the choir, included: “Silva Caledonia”, “Memento”, both “Lauda 31” and “Lauda 32”, and “Ian in the Broch”. As a former double bass player, Bryars has also used this instrument as a solo instrument in his work such as Double Bass Concerto and “Farewell to St Petersburg” for double bass and male choir.
This concert celebrates the eightieth birthday of Gavin Bryars.
