Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of concerts that on December 20 brings to you the classics of winter and Christmas songs performed by Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir and Youth Choir, preparatory choirs Jukud and Juhanid, as well as the boys’ choir’s sextet and quintet. They are accompanied on the piano by Andres Lemba and Riivo Jõgi.
Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir was founded in 1971 by Venno Laul as the boys’ choir of the State Academic Men’s Choir, later also called Estonian Boys’ Choir. In 1997, the choir was adopted by the Estonian National Opera. Since 2001, the choir is lead by its chief conductor Hirvo Surva.
