The Habsburg Spain was one of the strongest countries in the world, with borders ranging from America to East India. The Habsburgs were great patrons of fine arts. It was a period of prosperity for Spanish music, with its impact stretching to the new continent thanks to seafarers, not to mention its neighbors Italy and France.
