On this occasion, the traditional, festive end-of-the-year concert is focussed on Joseph Haydn.

Haydn lived an exceptionally long and fertile life. Every day he worked incredibly zealously, while always standing up for his fellow musicians, and encouraging young, budding talents. He knew how to get along with his employers, usually members of the nobility, but was also not out of place amongst simple folk.
