Raimo Kangro, along with the “boys” from the group Hortus Musicus, belonged to a group of like-minded enthusiasts who, 40 years ago, was enthusiastic about everything that went beyond the frames of everyday life of music; together, they defied the prevailing ideology. The openness of the ensemble and Andres Mustonen to everything new and exciting, along with the early music, was manifested in cooperation of Hortus Musicus with Arvo Pärt, later with Raimo Kangro, Peeter Vähi, Lepo Sumera and Erkki-Sven Tüür. They were followed by Grigorieva, Kancheli, Knaifel – all of them have created works for the ensemble. All this was also the world of Raimo Kangro.
