Estonian National Opera Boys Choir is the musical collective with one of the densest concert schedules in Estonia. They have to play roles in the productions of the National Opera, and the main activity, of course, is to promote and introduce the traditions of boys’ songs both in Estonia and on concert tours around the world.
The choir has a dignified history that dates back to 1971, when it started as the Boys’ Choir of the Estonian National Male Choir. Today’s chief conductor and creative director, Hirvo Surva, is known as a firm and wonderful leader of boys’ choirs and a compiler of powerful concert programs.
