Rossini’s “The Turk in Italy” is a cheerful, melodic, and witty opera, one of the composer’s earlier works. The libretto was written by Felice Romani, who based his work on the text written by Caterino Mazzola for Franz Seydelmann’s opera of the same name. The colourful plot binds together the intrigues and love
affairs of Romani people, Turks, and Italians.
Performed in Italian, subtitles in Estonian and English.
