Scarpa’s “Stabat Mater” is about Vivaldi and the girl musicians of an orphanage in Venice. Students from the string department at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre play Vivaldi’s score, while the former location and environment in which this music was played is conveyed by the book by Scarpa.
