Unfortunately, a bassoon cannot compete in popularity with most of the other instruments of the symphony orchestra, not even in the 21st century. Bert Helsen and Filip Neyens, soloists of the Belgian National Symphony Orchestra, decided to put together a band that could showcase the different colors and abilities of the bassoon and contrabassoon. Ensemble HaftCraft was created in 2014 and has performed concerts in the prestigious concert halls of Belgium, Holland, China, and Iran.

The concert program includes the creation of composers of Iranian origin and living in different parts of the world and a new work by Peeter Vähi. Song texts use philosophical-religious reflections of the mystic Rumi who lived in the 13th century and of the modern poets and texts full of parables so characteristic of the Oriental countries.
