Programme: Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Verdi
Alvar Tiisler started singing in the Estonian National Opera boys’ choir. He has performed both as a soloist and in the composition of various performances and major works. Tiisler has performed in the United States, Canada, Japan, Israel, Russia, and almost all of Europe. On a daily basis, he works as a sports commentator for Estonian Television. He has put together the program of this concert together with his close creative partner Kadri Toomoja. The concert features arias from large baroque forms to romantic operas. Traditionally, classical music artists begin their music studies at a very early age. Although singing as a child in a boys’ choir has certainly influenced Alvar’s journey in music, as a classical music artist, he has been a rather late bloomer, going his own paths, and that is why it is certainly very exciting to hear his thoughts on music, finding his way to music, its relationships with everyday life and work; finding the right balance, which is often the key to playing any kind of music.
