The opera by composer Francis Poulenc and writer Georges Bernanos “Dialogues des Carmélites” (1956) deals with serious issues of fear of death, anger, God’s grace and redemption; and the free will of every individual. The opera presents extraordinarily interesting roles for soloists both in dramatic and musical development, as well as multi-layered possibilities for the director.
