Programme:
Piazzolla, Rovira
Just as Ástor Piazzolla, who burned much of his scores, Eduardo Rovira also lost numerous scores to a flood. The music you will hear is from SONICO’s third album, “The Edge of Tango,” featuring reconstructed material from the lost manuscripts of these great masters. The concert includes previously unpublished works by Piazzolla and Rovira, restored from old recordings. This promises to be an exciting journey into the golden age of Argentine tango nuevo, highlighting the influential works of the Octeto Buenos Aires (Piazzolla) and Octeto La Plata (Rovira).
SONICO, the only authentic tango nuevo orchestra in Europe based in Brussels, is dedicated to reviving Eduardo Rovira’s musical legacy.
