“Born in Jõhvi” marks the hopefully lõng-term collaboration between Eesti Kontsert and the Jõhvi municipal government. This project brings freelance creatives to a three-month residency in Jõhvi to develop a stage production. Director Elina Pähklimägi has assembled a talented team, including dramaturg Katariina Libe and actors Triinu Meriste, Jaune Kimmel, Janek Joost, and Markus Truup.

The inspiration for this original work comes from a historical figure with strong ties to Jõhvi. The identity of this individual will be revealed on 20 January 2026, when the Jõhvi Concert Hall lights up in anticipation of the premiere.
