Prepare for an exceptional evening with Pekka Kuusisto, the acclaimed Finnish violinist, conductor, and composer, known for his fresh and innovative approach to repertoire. He’s currently the artistic director of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, principal guest conductor and artistic co-director of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and will also become a principal guest conductor of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra starting in the 2025/26 season.
Kuusisto embraces various musical styles, performing classical works alongside contemporary and experimental music. His concerts are full of energy, and his performances are deeply felt. He’s an enthusiastic advocate for new music and a brilliant improviser. His passionate renditions of folk music are also widely recognized. Beyond his solo career, Kuusisto is active as a lecturer and creator of musical events.
