Olari Elts and Baiba Skride – double energy supported by fifteen years of working together on
the stages of Europe and the United States.
Baiba Skride’s natural approach to music-making has captivated many conductors and
orchestras all over the world. She has been praised for her genuine joy of playing music and
her sensitive and passionate interpretations. She has performed as a soloist with the New York
Philharmonic, the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the
Orchestre de Paris, as well as the NHK Symphony Orchestra. With ENSO and its guest
principal conductor Olari Elts, she will perform and record the violin concerto by the Estonian
composer, Heino Eller. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the piece, as it is the
first violin concerto in the history of Estonian music.
