Elmira Darvarova has worked as the concertmaster for the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the only female violinist in this position in the Metropolitan’s history. This has given her the opportunity to make music with the world’s best musicians and conductors, including Carlos Kleiber, James Levine, Janos Starker, Gary Karr, Pascal Rogé, as well as tango and jazz legends, such as Octavio Brunetti, Fernando Otero, and David Amram, and Indian classical music superstars – Amaan & Ayaan Ali Khan.
Elmira Darvarova has been a soloist for the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Moscow National Symphony Orchestra, and many other orchestras in Europe and America. A documentary has been made about the life and career of Darvarova.
She has received prizes from several competitions and is now often a part of the jury in said competitions.
Nowadays, Darvarova travels the world as a soloist and as part of a chamber group; she is the main organiser and artistic director for the New York Chamber Music Festival. In addition, Darvarova is the leader and member of the New York Piano Quartet.
Long- term ensemble partner of Sviatoslav Richter, the Moscow born composer and pianist Vasily Lobanov is highly praised musician. Today, the tutor at Kalaidos University (Switzerland) and Birmingham University (UK) is a sought- after expert for masterclasses in chamber music, piano and composition all over the world.
