This remarkable concert presents a collaboration between two distinguished chamber orchestras, who will perform individually and together. The unifying figure is conductor Risto Joost, a musical director therefore a regular guest with both ensembles. Starting autumn 2024, Joost assumed the position of principal conductor of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra.

The Württemberg Chamber Orchestra was established by Jörg Faerber in 1960. The ensemble has collaborated with prominent musicians, including Martha Argerich, Alfred Brendel, Rudolf Buchbinder, Maurice André, James Galway, Hilary Hahn, Gidon Kremer, Sabine Meyer, and Anne-Sophie Mutter, among others. WKO has recorded over 500 classical works for record labels such as Deutsche Grammophon and Teldec. Renowned festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival, Vienna Music Summer, Lucerne Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Schwetzingen Festival, and Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, are regular venues for the orchestra’s performances.
