STEGREIF is a symphony orchestra that takes on classical music’s masterworks, but what sets these thirty young, international musicians apart is their ability to open up new ways into the world of classical music for both themselves and the audience.

They infuse well-known pieces with elements of folk, jazz, klezmer, blues, and rock, crafting visually and theatrically impactful new interpretations. STEGREIF explores fresh soundscapes and experiments with genre-bending fusions. They do all of this without sheet music, a conductor, or even chairs – this freedom creates space for improvisation and movement, bringing a new sense of freshness, dynamism, and immediate presence to classical music.

Free∃roica – A Symphony of Freedom and Revolution

“free∃roica” delves into revolutions, both historical and musical, and celebrates the heroes who dared to change the world. The breaking of traditions is visually symbolized on stage: shattered music stands and scores, dramatic red fabric, and a disrupted orchestral arrangement.

The audience is taken on a journey that begins in 18th-century France and extends to the present day. This isn’t just a concert; it’s an experience where Beethoven’s music resonates once again with boldness, freshness, and a free spirit.
