Chopin. Polonaise fantasy in A-sharp major Op. 61
Schumann. „Kreisleriana“ op. 16
A concert evening with the more delicate pages of romantic piano music. We will hear Mazurkas and Polonaise-Fantasy by Chopin reflecting his homesickness, and Schumann’s Kreisleriana – a bouquet of states of mind of an eccentric and depressive musician.
Mihkel Poll: “The works of Chopin and Schumann expressing the romantic ideals of Romanticism provide endless possibilities for the interpreter to reflect the feelings. Here, the virtuoso pianism manifests itself in its fullness, the expression scale ranging from hot dramatism to warm lyricism.”
Mihkel Poll is one of the Estonian pianists with the most promising career. Suffice it to say that Poll has performed in famous halls such as Wigmore Hall and Barbican Hall in London, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, and has released solo albums for recording labels Ondine and Dux (the latter was awarded the title of 2016 Best Estonian Classical Album). His concerts bring a full house also in the concert halls at home in Estonia.
