Performers:
Peedu Kass (double bass, electronics, artistic director)Villu Talsi (mandolin)
Theodor Sink (cello)
Simone Minn (viola, vocals)
The captivating and unique trio of mandolin, cello, and double bass is set to transform into what is likely the world’s first ever string quartet of its kind.
The concert will feature the musicians’ original compositions, arrangements of early music by John Eccles and Thomas Tallis, folk motifs, and, given the ensemble’s distinctiveness, iconic string quartet repertoire inspired by John Adams’ “Shaker Loops” and Steve Reich’s “Different Trains”.
Adding a special touch is the young instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter Simone Minn.
