The talent of pianist Jiyoung Kim has been acknowledged through the special prize by the jury at the Seventh international Tchaikovsky competition for young musicians. She also achieved a first place at the Second Korean-Asian open competition for pianists. These awards were followed by coming third at the Fourth Maj Lind international piano competition, along with an award from Eesti Kontsert at the international piano competition in Tallinn, and second place awards at the Steinway competition in Munich and at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb.

Jiyoung has performed with the Konzerthaus Orchestra of Berlin, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Novaya Rossiya State Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation. She has held recitals at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as in Seoul and Munich.
