Intermission
Arrangements of Nordic folk music

The Danish String Quartet is one of the most celebrated chamber ensembles of its generation, renowned for technical precision alongside a distinctive and expressive performance style. Their repertoire spans from classical masterpieces to Nordic folk music, which they frequently weave into their programmes. The ensemble is praised for its exceptional energy, musical depth and a masterful blend of tradition and innovation.

As a string quartet, we feel we are at the very heart of classical music. We immerse ourselves daily in the works of great masters like Beethoven and Mozart, but occasionally we also play folk tunes. Beyond music, our shared interests cover a wide range, from vintage cars, cooking and video games to reading and tennis. We are also brought together by diving, long conversations and being fathers to our young children. Playing in a quartet is our profession and demands dedication, but above all, it brings us joy. Music is a way to spend time with friends, and we hope to continue doing so for many years to come.
