Concert Series “Playing with the Subconscious”
„Bach and Marimba—balance and meditation“

On his soft-sounding marimba, Karl Johann Lattikas, a young percussionist, brings forth the meditative peace—something from the baroque master Bach’s work that still touches people to this day.

Karl Johann Lattikas is a master student in Sibelius Academy, a young percussionist who started his studies as a pianist. After finishing Tallinn Music High School, he went to Helsinki, where he has studied under many known figures from different nations and performed with the SibA Percussion Ensemble in new music festivals. As a bandsman, he has played with ERSO (Estonian National Symphony Orchestra), Estonian Festival Orchestra, Estonian Sinfonietta, and many Finnish orchestras, but also in Peru, Iran, and lately, in the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein. His style is characterised by sensitivity and artistry.

„The union of music, science and psychology – this evening will open up your creativity and expand your understanding of the brain and psyche. Perception in a special environment, concentration level in an environment where the surroundings are stripped to a minimum – the audience can sit on comfy beanbag chairs around the artist. The concert will be followed by a chat with the audience, the music therapist and the artist on expectations and the experience.“
