Some of the well-known pieces from Tchaikovsky’s “Children’s Album” are an essential part of every piano student’s musical journey. Today, we can listen to couple of them arranged for piano and strings by Timo Steiner.
The imaginative suite of the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns presents us a royal lion, chickens and roosters, graceful swan gliding on the iridescent surface, colourful fish floating in the depths of the water, turtles, elephants, kangaroos, some agile long-eared characters, and many others.
The stage consists of a small ensemble of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, South African-born viola player and conductor Xandi van Dijk, and pianists Kärt Ruubel and Johan Randvere.
