You will hear a selection of Kuldar Sink’s male choir and chamber music – songs for male choir, songs for soprano soloist, and works for cello and piano.

Sink’s music is alarmingly rarely performed for Estonian listeners. The biggest bottleneck seems to be the lack of availability of sheet music. Despite that, we are very happy to present the premiere of “Kodulaul” (Song for Home) for soprano, flute, guitar and cello by Kuldar Sink tonight.

The long and difficult journeys of this hitherto mystical solitary creator eventually led to simplicity and religious sincerity of his music. Sink composed spontaneously, without technical constructions, constantly getting rid of the excess. Thus, in the 1990s, the composer’s best and deepest compositions were born in laconic but deep density. The admirable brightness and happiness of Sink’s latest works speak to listeners especially today.
