Until 1944, Tartu, the cradle of Estonian national culture, was home to Eduard Tubin – the greatest Estonian symphonic composer. The opening concert of revives the brilliance of pre-war cultural life of Tartu, and focuses on years Tubin lived in Tartu. His Symphony No. 3 together with Tubin’s teacher Heino Eller’s “Symphonic Scherzo” will be performed.
