Andres Mustonen introduces the musicians and authors close to his heart. Vadim Repin, a violinist whose performances send thrills of anticipation through the audiences around the world, will perform the latest piece by composer Sofia Gubaidulina that was specially dedicated to the violin artist. The audience has a unique opportunity of hearing “Tzigane”, a rhapsodic composition by Ravel. The piece starts with a comprehensive solo cadence that is especially alluring if performed by Repin. In the second half of the concert, the monumental “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff will be performed, the most beloved and renowned choral symphony of the 20th century.
