Introduction

Performers:

Egert Leinsaar (violin)
Linda-Anette Verte (violin)
Sandra Klimaitė (viola)
Theodor Sink (cello)

Programme:
Schnittke. String Quartet No 3
Glass. String Quartet No 5
Riley. „Anthem of the Great Spirit“

The group performed the composition for the first time at the Leigo Lake Music Festival in 2019, where they played variations on Terry Riley’s work “Anthem of the Great Spirit”. Riley’s versatile work is definitely worth performing as a whole, as it enchants for both performers and listeners. To keep the audience on the wave of the era, the program includes also the String Quartet No 5 by Philip Glass, one of the most influential composers of the 20th century, and the String Quartet No 3 of Alfred Schnittke (1983).

The joint concert series of Eesti Kontsert and the Association of Professional Musicians presents the chamber music in the best concert halls of the state with the representatives of the 335- member creative union of Estonian musicians with programmes of carefully selected classics.

In cooperation with Association of Estonian Professional Musicians
