Due to its igniting and live performances and unique programme selections, the Signum Quartet has proven to be one of the undisputed leaders in the international string quartet landscape.

The quartet has won numerous awards in both competitions and for its recording work. The music of Schubert and Tüür, also performed in Estonia, has been the central point of musical studies of the quartet in recent years. Quartets´ recording of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Second String Quartet for ECM won Classical Album of the Year at the Estonian Music Awards 2021.

The Signum Quartet has performed in worldfamous concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmony and Concert Hall, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Wigmore Hall, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and others. An important part of the Signum Quartet’s identity is cooperation with contemporary composers and sharing experiences with musicians of the future. Also in Tallinn, the quartet holds a public master class for the string students of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
