Concert series “I as an interpreter”

Programme:
Taïra, Xenakis, Fowler, Aguirre, Tüür, Eespere, Rosin

The title of the concert “Bushidō – the warrior’s path” fits well with Rosin’s long-term interest in martial arts. For more than a decade, karate has inspired the young performer to combine the martial arts movement with the percussion movement. The result is a unique personal technique, and an attractive way of playing that will undoubtedly attract the attention of the audience.

Bushidō contains a code of honor consisting of moral values and the ideals that guided the samurai. Emphasis was placed on sincerity, frugality, loyalty, mastery of martial arts, and maintaining honor until death.

Heigo Rosin, who became known to the Estonian audience from the program series “Classical Stars,” can be called Estonia’s first percussion soloist with an international career. He has given concerts in Europe and America, including the world-famous Carnegie Hall, and was the first Estonian to receive a scholarship from the well-known Swiss Orpheum Foundation. His list of numerous awards includes the Rising Stars Grand Prix II (2017), the DeLinkprijs Contemporary Music Competition 1st Prize (2013), the Yamaha Scholarship Competition for Percussion 1st Prize (2013).
Heigo Rosin is the official artist of Malletech percussion and Sabian cymbals.
