Novosibirsk is world-renowned for its school of violin school – the brightest examples being Maksim Vengerov and Vadim Repin. The most popular and well-known music ensemble in the city is the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. As a friend and musician close to Repin, Andres Mustonen has repeatedly conducted the orchestra and calls it an excellent line-up of like-minded virtuoso instrumentalists, all of whom being personalities and soloists.

Beethoven’s triple concerto has been performed by our young soloists together with Andres Mustonen to date with different orchestras seven times, among them with great success in the hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and at the Tel Aviv Opera. It is fascinating that the string orchestra version of this highly acclaimed and widely performed piece is probably performed for the first time in Estonia.

Programme:

Beethoven. Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano with orchestra in C major, Op. 56 (Triple Concerto)
Mendelssohn. String symphony No. 10 in B minor, MWV N 10
Kancheli. “A Little Daneliade” Bardanashvili. A new piece in memory of Giya Kancheli
Tchaikovsky. “The Seasons” Op. 37b (arr. for string orchestra)
