At first glance, it seems a strange statement that one of the most popular saints of medieval Christian religion was the Buddha! However, the parallels are exciting. After years of dedicated research in libraries around the world, Katarina Livljanić and the Dialogos ensemble bring to light an unexpected story about the medieval Christian cultural space and its saints, Prince Joshaphat and his teacher Barlaam as Christian equivalents of Buddha. This legend spread in almost all medieval languages and bears the hallmarks of the four religions. The concert performance tells the story of Prince Joshaphat, the royal son, who flees from noisy and materialistic worlds in search of inner peace. Through music, acting and video projections, an intriguing medieval story unfolds.
